This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains the terms for cancelling bookings and obtaining refunds for services provided by The Sound Works Recording Studios Limited.
1. BOOKING DEPOSITS
All bookings require a 50% deposit to secure your session. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session before recording begins.
- Deposits are non-refundable except as outlined in this policy.
- For last-minute bookings (within 48 hours), full payment may be required.
2. CANCELLATION BY CLIENT

Mixing & Mastering Services
- Before work begins: Full refund of any payment made.
- After work has started: Refund minus costs for work already completed (calculated at hourly rate).
- After delivery of final files: No refund available.
Production Lessons
- Single lessons: Same cancellation policy as recording sessions.
- Lesson packages: Unused lessons can be rescheduled but are non-refundable. Lesson packages expire 6 months from purchase.
3. RESCHEDULING
We understand plans change. You may reschedule your session under the following conditions:
- 48+ hours notice: Free rescheduling, subject to availability.
- Less than 48 hours: Treated as a cancellation (see above).
- Rescheduling limit: Sessions may be rescheduled once without penalty. Further rescheduling may incur a £25 administration fee.
- Rescheduled sessions: Must be used within 3 months of the original booking date.
4. CANCELLATION BY SOUND WORKS
In the rare event that we need to cancel your session (e.g., equipment failure, illness, emergency), we will:
- Offer an alternative date/time that suits you, OR
- Provide a full refund of all payments made
We are not liable for any additional costs you may incur as a result of our cancellation (such as travel or accommodation expenses).
5. HOW TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE
To cancel or reschedule your booking, please contact us as soon as possible:

Cancellation requests must be received by email or in writing. The time of your cancellation is when we receive your notification, not when you send it.
6. REFUND PROCESSING
- Approved refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days.
- Refunds will be made to the original payment method.
- Card payments may take additional time to appear on your statement depending on your bank.
7. NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS
The following are non-refundable:
- Completed services (recordings delivered, mixes completed)
- Session files and exports already provided
- Gift vouchers (exchangeable only, not refundable)
- No-shows
8. SERVICE ISSUES
If you are unsatisfied with the quality of our services, please contact us immediately. We are committed to resolving issues and will:
- Address technical issues at no additional cost
- Offer re-recording time if the problem was on our end
- Provide additional mix revisions if warranted
We encourage open communication to ensure you're happy with your results.
9. CONSUMER RIGHTS
This policy does not affect your statutory consumer rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you are entitled to:
- Services performed with reasonable care and skill
- Services completed within a reasonable time
- A price that is reasonable if not agreed in advance
